Glass Lovers Hobart was formed in January 2008 by a group of Hobart Lampworkers keen to get together with others involved in this enthralling craft.
Working with glass is done mostly in solitude with skills developed through trial and error and the reading of both books and resources on the internet. The availability of regular classes to enhance ones skills is limited in Hobart, unlike many of our mainland peers.
Bi-monthly get togethers where our work, new ideas, products and frustrations could be shared and discussed was seen as an avenue to help enhance skills and enthusiasm.
Meetings are held on the first Sunday bi-monthly, hosted at various members homes.
We welcome any ideas for or contributions to this site. Contribute pictures to our showcase or suggest links for the resources page that will help others locate products or tutorials to share with others.
Additionally, any ideas as to how this site could be expanded to meet glassworkers needs are more than welcomed.
